Referring to your letter of the 17th September

No.3004/1900 and to our reply of the 27th of September, relative to the weight of the coins now being supplied by the Birmingham Mint for the Government of Hong Kong, I have the honour to enclose a copy of a further correspondence which we have had with the Deputy Master of the Mint as to a stoppage which has occurred in the regular fortnightly supplies required by the Colonial Government in consequence of some of the coins having been found not to be of the

weight prescribed by law.

The shipment which should have gone last week has been kept back on account of the question raised by the Royal Mint, and I beg to request that we may receive the Secretary of State's decision in the matter at the earliest

possible moment.
